As a former school-based Counsellor, a teacher, a workshop leader and now a public speaker, Eliana wrote the book as a testament to her passion and commitment to making a difference in the world. In her own words, she states, “My work with children and young people is very precious to me. It is the reason why I am here offering you this book and with it the opportunity to learn more about yourself, the relationship we have with each other, and about the beautiful planet we share and care for.”
The book is a collection of four stories told by four British children and includes teaching tools useful for personal and social education. It is the first step in a long journey in places around the world where English is spoken and used in schools as an official language. Readers will meet Rhys from Wales, Sheena from Northern Ireland, Stuart from Scotland and Vicki from England. The stories they share combined with a delightful selection of photographs offer a glimpse into their individual home lives including their hopes and dreams and what it is like in their respective countries as well as some interesting trivia.
The first volume, The United Kingdom of Great Britain and Northern Ireland, focuses on the transition from primary to secondary school as each of her characters talks about their home life, school life and the emotions attached to their experiences as a child growing up and having to face changes and the challenges that come with it.

A book full of life
My Review of ‘A Book About us - Celebrating Diversity' has only just started!
The book is full of life and gives children the opportunity to write about how they feel and what they are going through. As I'm going to high school soon and I'm nervous but also excited I am full of mixed emotions. I could possibly write that down, it also shows children that maybe they could be going through what some of the children are going through like Rhys, Sheena, Stuart, and Vicki. Not only has it got life it gives children a good example, and this book to me is more then words describes. It's a book that you want to keep reading, a book thats full if life and love, a book that is interesting and many more. This book out of 10 would be 15, because it's that good!!
I hope you read this review and take my word for it!

Insightful and interesting
Eliana's concept of educating us on the diversity of culture, through the eyes of children, is both insightful and easy to read. I highly recommend this interesting book for both you and your children.
